The roster news continues for Indiana in what has been a hectic offseason since a March 11 loss to Rutgers in the Big Ten Tournament.
In just the last few days redshirt senior center Joey Brunk entered the transfer portal and landed at Ohio State, and IU next received a commitment Monday from class of 2021 top-60 guard Tamar Bates.
On Tuesday Northwestern transfer Miller Kopp committed to IU.
The latest scholarship chart reflecting those changes is below. With the addition of Kopp, IU is presently oversigned by one player for the 2022-23 season, although the transfer portal remains open and rosters remain fluid.
As a reminder, the 2020-21 season did not count against a player’s college eligibility. Therefore, similar to the practice being utilized by IU on its official rosters, players are shown with the same eligibility status that they had for the 2020-21 season. If Indiana had seniors continuing with the program into the 2021-22 season it would have been allowed to go over the normal allotment of 13 scholarships. Brunk’s decision, however, along with a prior decision to transfer by senior guard Al Durham, means that IU will not have more than 13 scholarship players next season.
