When Jalen Hood-Schifino’s name is called on Thursday evening, it will be the first time since 2019 that a former IU basketball player has been chosen in the NBA Draft.
But the expectation is he won’t be the only Hoosier chosen this week.
While Hood-Schifino is a consensus first round pick, Trayce Jackson-Davis is widely expected to be selected late in the first round or somewhere in the early to middle part of the second.
If both are chosen it will be the first time since 2017 that two former Hoosiers were drafted in the same year.
If both go in the first round, it will be the first time since 2013 that has happened.
Overall, by our count 76* players from Indiana have been chosen in the NBA draft. That includes 26 chosen in the first round (including head coach Mike Woodson), two as the overall number one selection, and four as the overall number two selection.
