The IU basketball program announced its musical performer for the 2023 edition of Hoosier Hysteria.
Well known rapper and music executive Gucci Mane will perform following the basketball activities at Simon Skjodt Assembly on Oct. 20.
Like IU players Kaleb Banks and Jakai Newton along with assistant coach Yasir Rosemond, Mane is from Atlanta.
Formally known as Radric Davis, Mane is one of the early influencers of trap music.
According to Wikipedia, Mane has released 15 studio albums, 3 collaborative albums, 10 compilation albums, one soundtrack, 8 extended plays (EPs), 77 mixtapes and 100 singles (including 52 as a featured artist) and 16 promotional singles.
He’s had multiple albums go as high as No. 2 in the charts.
This is the second consecutive year Indiana will have a musical guest at Hoosier Hysteria, in what appears to be a new tradition under coach Mike Woodson. Last year IU had G Herbo at the event.
