Just a couple more pieces of the 2023-24 IU basketball scheduling puzzle remain a mystery at this point.
On Friday, college basketball reporter Rocco Miller said IU will host Morehead State in Bloomington during the upcoming season. The date was not included in his announcement.
Indiana leads the all-time series with the Eagles 6-0. The Hoosiers opened the 2022-23 season with an 88-53 win over MSU. IU led 41-29 at halftime and the Hoosiers were led by Trayce Jackson-Davis and Malik Reneau, who each had 15 points. Jackson-Davis had a team high seven rebounds.
Morehead State went on to finish the season with a 22-12 record a year ago and a No. 237 KenPom ranking. They made the postseason NIT and defeated Clemson on the road in the first round before falling to UAB. It was the third straight 20-win season for head coach Preston Spradlin.
The Eagles return some of their key contributors from a year ago, and they have added 7-foot Xavier transfer Dieonte Miles during the offseason. Bart Torvik currently projects their roster at No. 221 nationally.
Nine of Indiana’s 11 non-conference games are now known. They’ll open the season on Nov. 7 against Florida Gulf Coast. To see the components of the 2023-24 schedule revealed so far, GO HERE:
