Indiana will debut a new look on Friday evening inside Simon Skjodt Assembly Hall when the Hoosiers host UCLA.
In a social media post, IU basketball says they are “Honoring & celebrating the connecting threads of Black Excellence” with special uniforms for the Friday night contest.
This is how Indiana describes the uniforms in their pregame notes:
“Inspired by the artistry, resilience, and cultural significance of quilting and the influence of community leaders, we Honor Black Excellence with these asymmetrical designs. The Hoosiers will wear a signature Adidas jersey, woven through history connecting the program to its foundations: history and tradition.”
IU and Adidas have introduced special uniforms in the month of February for several years in a row.
Here are the pictures IU released on social media:
The Indiana women’s team wore similar uniforms in a home game last week.
Indiana and UCLA tip at 8 p.m. ET Friday on FOX.
