As Indiana shows interest in transfer portal prospects we’ll provide a quick profile with our transfer portal names to know series.
Of course we’ll cover prospects more if things progress beyond initial interest.
Next up is Pepperdine transfer forward Michael Ajayi.
Ajayi earned All-WCC first team this season. He led the conference in scoring for a majority of the season, pouring in 17.2 points per game while nearly averaging a double-double, gathering 9.9 boards per contest. The junior most recently notched third place on the Pepperdine single-season leaderboard for double-doubles with 15 total– a stat in which he also leads the conference.
The 6-foot-7 and 220-pound Ajayi shot 46.7 percent from the field overall, and 47 percent (on 83 attempts) from three.
A product of Kent, Washington, Ajayi arrived at Pepperdine from junior college (Pierce College).
At Pierce, Ajayi was named the 2022 Northwest Athletic Conference West Region’s Most Valuable Player and the West Region’s Freshman of the Year last season. He was the team’s leading scorer and rebounder at 20.4 points and 11.3 rebounds in 23 games. He had back-to-back games with a season-high 40 points against Highline (one shy of the school record) and 38 against South Puget Sound.
Ajayi should have one year of eligibility remaining. His junior season highlights are below.
