When he heads to IU in just over a week, Bradley transfer guard Connor Hickman won’t need a map.
The Bloomington, Ind. native confirmed with The Daily Hoosier he will visit Indiana on April 14. That news was first reported by the 247Sports Indiana site.
Hickman was a former high school teammate of IU guard Anthony Leal at South H.S. He played AAU basketball for Adidas sponsored Indiana Elite, where he teamed with former Indiana player Logan Duncomb.
The 6-foot-3 and 200-pound Hickman earned a spot on the Missouri Valley Conference Third Team with Bradley this season.
In his third season at Bradley, Hickman averaged a team-leading 14.5 points to go with 3.4 rebounds, 2.9 assists (vs. 1.9 turnovers) and 1.2 steals.
Hickman’s shooting splits were 46.7% overall, 40.2% from three (on 184 attempts/5.9 per game), and 70.1% at the free throw line. His 57.6% effective field goal percentage was 161st in the nation.
In three seasons at Bradley, Hickman has made 37.6% of his three-pointers on 407 attempts.
From an advanced analytic standpoint, Hickman is the 30th ranked player in the portal when it comes to points over replacement player at the same usage (3.6), and he’s 20th in box score plus/minus (4.7) for players who played at least 50% of their team’s minutes.
Wherever he lands, Hickman will have one year of eligibility remaining.
Hickman is at least the third transfer portal player who will visit Indiana in the coming weeks. He’ll join Stanford’s Kanaan Carlyle and Drexel’s Amari Williams, who both arrive April 19.
