Valentine’s Day, meet stripe out.
Indiana is bringing back the stripe out concept to the stands for their home game against UCLA this Friday. Fans are being asked to wear red or white in alternating sections to create a striping effect that mimics the program’s legendary candy stripe pants.
Indiana first held a stripe out in 2008 when the Hoosiers hosted Michigan State, and they’ve done it multiple times since, including the home game against Kansas last season.
To help orchestrate the effort, Indiana has published guidance regarding what color to wear.
Fans going to the game can also check whether they should wear red or white by going here and entering their seats.
Red and white IU t-shirts will be provided at the IU-UCLA game to student fans sitting in the student section. Shirts will be distributed on the seats according to the stripe out game seating map.
Alumni Hall, the official sponsor of the stripe out, has produced special t-shirts for the event. There’s more information on that below.
Indiana and UCLA play at 8 p.m. ET Friday on FOX.
