Indiana added a significant talent to its wide receiver room on Friday afternoon.
Clemson transfer wideout E.J. Williams announced on his social media accounts he is transferring to Indiana.
Over three seasons, Williams recorded 40 catches for 442 yards and two touchdowns in 888 offensive snaps over 33 games (six starts) with Clemson from 2020-22.
Williams is listed at 6-foot-3 and 190 pounds.
As a junior, Williams appeared in 13 games for Clemson in 2022, and had seven catches for 70 yards. He had 33 receptions over his first two seasons including 24 as a true freshman. Williams’ best game of his career came as a freshman in the ACC title game against Notre Dame when he had four catches for 80 yards and a touchdown.
He started four games as a freshman, but his 2021 sophomore year was derailed by injuries. Williams struggled with drops in 2022. He had four drops, and a 36.4 percent drop rate as a junior according to PFF.
Williams was a 4-star recruit and top-100 talent as part of the Tigers’ 2020 signing class.
During the early signing period, Williams was listed the No. 98 overall player in the nation by 247Sports, which also ranked him as the fourth-best player in Alabama for the 2020 class. He was ranked No. 112 overall and fourth-best player in Alabama by PrepStar, and ESPN ranked Williams as the No. 124 overall player.
A product of Phenix City, Ala., Williams should have two years of eligibility remaining.
