Indiana University and Old Dominion University announced on Wednesday afternoon their football programs will meet at Memorial Stadium to kick off the 2025 season on Aug. 30. It will mark the first meeting between the two schools.
The Monarchs are the Hoosiers third and final 2025 non-conference opponent. IU previously announced it will host Louisville (Sept. 6) and Indiana State (Sept. 13).
“Our program is excited to get another opportunity to prove ourselves on a national stage. I have an enormous amount of respect for Coach Allen and his staff, and we look forward to the challenge we will face in Bloomington,” ODU head coach Ricky Rahne said in a release by the school.
Old Dominion is a member of Conference USA. The Monarchs became an FBS school when they joined that conference in 2014. In 2016 they finished 10-3 and played in the Bahamas Bowl. The program cancelled its 2020 season due to the COVID-19 pandemic. ODU did not have a football program from 1941 through 2008.
