Swinton hails from Stafford, Virginia and attends North Stafford High School.
According to the 247Sports Composite, Swinton is a 3-star recruit, and the No. 150 player listed as an “athlete” according to that service.
In his junior season, Swinton was selected as a First Team All-Region wide receiver and First Team All-Region cornerback.
An athlete in more ways than just on the football field, Swinton averaged 27 points per game as a junior guard at North Stafford. He scored 30 or more points in eight games and has some lower level basketball scholarship offers as well.
Swinton also held football offers from Wake Forest, Virginia, South Carolina, Rutgers, Syracuse and others.
He follows Ronnie Walker from the 2018 class as another IU commit from the state of Virginia.
