Coming into the week, IU football had no in-state commits in the 2024 class.
They’ve added three over the last 24 hours.
Carmel, Ind. (Carmel H.S.) cornerback Christian Peterson announced on Tuesday he has committed to IU, joining a pair of Indiana based offensive linemen who announced commitments earlier in the day.
“I am blessed to announce I will be continuing my academic and football career at Indiana University,” Peterson wrote in an attachment to a Twitter post.
Indiana’s offer last week was Peterson’s first from the Power Five ranks, and he wasted no time jumping on it.
Peterson had 35 tackles, four pass break-ups, three interceptions, one tackle for loss, and one blocked field goal as a junior for Carmel.
The 5-foot-11 and 180-pound Peterson self reports a 4.37 40-yard dash on his Twitter page. He’s a 3-star prospect according to 247Sports, the No. 134 cornerback in the 2024 class nationally, and the No. 22 overall player in Indiana.
Peterson’s junior season highlights are below.
