Preseason impressions of Indiana are rapidly evolving.
The Hoosiers (2-0) will travel to Southern California this weekend as a favorite when they face UCLA at the Rose Bowl.
Indiana opened as a 1.5-point favorite to beat the Bruins at FanDuel Sportsbook, and as of Sunday morning that line has moved to IU minus 3.5.
Meanwhile, ESPN’s FPI currently projects IU has a 58.5% chance to win in Pasadena this weekend. This is a massive change from the preseason projection, when FPI gave the Hoosiers just a 21.7% chance to win at UCLA.
The Hoosiers opened the season ranked No. 77 nationally according to FPI, and last in the Big Ten. Fueled by a 2-0 start in which they’ve outscored their opponents 108-10, IU has moved up 51 spots to No. 26, and they’re now seventh among all Big Ten squads.
UCLA had a week two bye after facing Hawaii on the road in their opener. They won that game just 16-13 after trailing 10-0 at halftime and continuing to trail going into the fourth quarter.
Indiana and UCLA kickoff at 7:30 p.m. ET at the Rose Bowl on Saturday evening. The game will be broadcast on NBC.
IU is seeking their third 3-0 start in the last five years.
