IU has risen to its highest spot in the Associated Press (AP) poll since 1967 after a 14-6 win over Wisconsin.
The Hoosiers are ranked No. 8 in the new AP poll released on Sunday, and No. 9 in the coaches poll. IU has been ranked in the AP poll for seven-straight weeks, matching the program regular-season record.
Joining IU in the national polls from the Big Ten are Ohio State (No. 3 AP / No. 4 coaches), Northwestern (15/14), Iowa (19/18) and Wisconsin (25/25).
The Hoosiers are a big early favorite to keep the Old Oaken Bucket next weekend.
Vegas likes Indiana by around two touchdowns according to the early betting lines for this Saturday’s trophy game against Purdue. The Circa Sports early betting line has the Hoosiers minus-14.
The Big Ten announced on Sunday that IU (6-1) and Purdue (2-4) will kick off at 3:30 p.m. ET in Bloomington on Saturday. That game will be televised by BTN.
Indiana has won five out of its last seven contests against the Boilermakers.
