Indiana is one of five finalists for class of 2026 quarterback Brodie McWhorter, he announced this week.
The Kingston, Ga. product is down to Auburn, Colorado, Indiana, Mississippi State and Wisconsin.
According to the On3 Industry Average, McWhorter is a 3-star quarterback, and the No. 34 overall QB in the 2026 class. Rivals has McWhorter pegged as a 4-star, and the No. 14 quarterback.
As a junior for Cass H.S., McWhorter suffered a major midseason injury and only played in 4.5 games in 2024. In that span he threw for 984 yards, rushed for 156, completed 72% of his passes, and accounted for 14 total touchdowns.
The 6-foot-2 McWhorter appears to be IU’s top QB target in the 2026 class, and with their impressive record of developing signal-callers, the Hoosiers appear to have a good chance to land him.
McWhorter took a multi-day visit to Indiana earlier this month. He also visited Bloomington for junior day in February. He had a third visit to IU scheduled for June before he accelerated his decision-making process.
The news of his commitment date came immediately on the heels of his official visit to Mississippi State, however.
IU and Mississippi State appear to be ahead of the pack based on reporting by multiple national recruiting outlets.
McWhorter will announce his commitment on May 15th at 12:30 p.m. ET at the Cass High School Theatre.
