Indiana fans are looking for tangible evidence of success on the field translating to high profile recruiting wins.
The Hoosiers will have just that if they can close on Florida-based class of 2022 linebacker Melvin Jordan.

Indiana is joined by Minnesota, Florida State, Miami (Fla.), and Oregon State in Jordan’s top five.
It has been an interesting journey for Jordan to this point. He recently de-committed from Cincinnati after its defensive coordinator left. He also de-committed from Florida State after its coaching staff turned over.
Jordan is listed at 6-foot, 210 pounds. He totaled 51 tackles and 3.5 sacks in six games as a junior according to MaxPreps. With speed and a quick burst, he appears to be in the mold of IU All-American linebacker Micah McFadden, who came to IU from the same area of Florida. Jordan reports a 4.68 40-yard dash time on his Hudl page.
The 247Sports Composite list Jordan as a 4-star recruit and the No. 264 overall player in the class of 2022 as of this writing. His .9052 rating would make him the ninth highest-rated Indiana recruit during the rankings era if the Hoosiers could land him.
Jordan played his 2019 season at IMG Academy under IU tight ends coach Kevin Wright. He was offered by Indiana when Kane Wommack was still the defensive coordinator and linebackers coach. Head coach Tom Allen has strong ties to the Tampa/St. Pete area and is also still heavily involved with the IU defense and linebackers.
