Indiana reported good news on Saturday, as tight end James Bomba was not on the team’s availability report heading into their week five matchup against Maryland.
The 6-foot-6 Bomba was injured in week two against Western Illinois.
Bomba provides experience and depth at the tight end spot. He has one catch on the season.
The Hoosiers are a fairly healthy team, with only reserve defensive lineman Ta’Derious Collins on the report among offensive or defensive players.
IU does have a potentially tricky situation on special teams, as their top two kickoff kickers are out. Both Derek McCormick and Alejandro Quintero will miss the Maryland game.
Quinn Warren handled the kickoff duties last week after Quintero was injured, and head coach Curt Cignetti was pleased with his perfomance.
“I thought he did a really good job,” Cignetti said of Warren on Monday. “He’s done a nice job in practice. He’s taken advantage of his opportunity. Those other guys are sort of day to day, week to week, and we’ll see what happens this week.”
No one else was listed as questionable or out for IU.
Meanwhile, Maryland published the following availability report for Saturday:
OUT
0 Neeo Avery
32 Mykel Morman
46 Gavin Marshall
81 Jahmari Powell-Wonson
QUESTIONABLE
58 Marcus Dumervil
