Kurtis Rourke is definitively out for Indiana’s game against Washington on Saturday, but there’s a good chance he only misses one game.
During ESPN’s live College GameDay broadcast, Pete Thamel said Rourke will attempt to play next weekend when the Hoosiers travel to Michigan State.
“Considering Kurtis Rourke had thumb surgery on Monday, the situation couldn’t have played out better,” Thamel said. “He had two small screws put in the top of his thumb. He is expected to attempt to come back next week against Michigan State.”
Redshirt sophomore Tayven Jackson will start in Rourke’s place against Washington.
Rourke is one of just two IU players on the injury report Saturday morning. Defensive lineman Ta’Derius Collins continues to be out.
Washington issued the following availability report:
OUT
0 Kevin Green
8 Cam Broussard
15 Rahim Wright
77 Maximus McCree
80 Wilson Schwartz
88 Quentin Moore
87 Ryan Otton
QUESTIONABLE
5 Zach Durfee
