Indiana added North Carolina based linebacker Jamari Farmer to its 2025 class on Monday.
Farmer announced his commitment to IU on his X account.
“From the moment I stepped onto Memorial Stadium, I felt the undeniable energy and passion that defines Hoosier football,” Farmer wrote.

The Mooresville, N.C. product visited IU a week ago.
Farmer has been highly productive at Mooresville H.S. (Mooresville, N.C.). He has collected 258 career tackles, 49 tackles for loss and 13 sacks in 26 varsity games. His 130 tackles and 26 tackles for loss in 2023 earned him Greater Metro 4-A Conference Defensive Player of the Year honors last season as well as Iredell County Player of the Year from the Statesville Record & Landmark.
The 6-foot and 218-pound Farmer does not currently appear in the 2025 rankings. He also had offers from Cincinnati, Coastal Carolina, East Carolina, Charlotte, and others.
Prior to the commitment by Farmer, Indiana’s 2025 class ranked 52nd nationally and 16th in the Big Ten according to the ON3 Average. The Hoosiers have had two decommits in the last week, Chris McCorkle and Travares Daniels. Farmer put IU back on the board with a linebacker in the class after losing Daniels.
