One of the top high school defensive linemen in the country put Indiana in his top four schools on Friday.
Class of 2023 4-star Wilky Denaud says he is currently focused on Indiana, Auburn, Florida State and Tennessee.
The Fort Pierce (Fla.) John Carroll H.S. product is ranked No. 334 overall in his class and the No. 47 defensive lineman according to the 247Sports Composite.
In a piece he authored himself for USA Today, Denaud had this to say about Indiana:
“Coach Paul Randolph, the D-line coach, has had a good run of players and has played as a professional himself,” DeNaud wrote. “He coached some of the greats like Aaron Donald. Coach Randolph has pieces that will help me develop and get to the next level. I like the idea of having Coach Kasey Teegardin and DB James Monds, who are also from the Treasure Coast, at Indiana. They’re both doing good things there.”
The 6-foot-4 and 245 pound likely edge rusher will officially visit all four of his top schools in September and October. According to his 247Sports profile page, the IU visit will come on the weekend of Oct. 7 when the Hoosiers host Michigan.
Denaud had 55 tackles (14 for loss), 3.5 sacks and an interception in 10 games during his 2021 junior season. He also had Power Five offers from Arkansas, Illinois, Georgia Tech, Florida, Miami (Fla.), Michigan State, N.C. State, Mississippi State, Nebraska, Penn State, South Carolina, Syracuse and West Virginia.
