Indiana won for the first time since 1993 as a nationally ranked team on Saturday with a 37-21 triumph against Rutgers.
As a result, the 2-0 Hoosiers moved up to No. 13 in the coaches poll on Sunday. That ties Indiana’s highest ever spot in the poll. IU also reached No. 13 in November 1993. The Hoosiers are also No. 13 in the new AP media poll, their highest spot since 1987.
Meanwhile, Michigan, Indiana’s opponent next Saturday, fell to No. 23/25 after a home loss to Michigan State.
The Hoosiers have not been ranked higher than the Wolverines in a head-to-head matchup since 1988.
While Indiana is ranked higher, Vegas likes Michigan to win on Saturday. The Wolverines are a 2-point favorite according to the early line.
History is not on Indiana’s side either. IU has not defeated Michigan since 1987. The Wolverines have a 24 game winning streak in the series.
The game next Saturday will kick off at noon ET at Memorial Stadium in Bloomington. It will be televised on FS1.
