Indiana kept the portal momentum rolling on Saturday with the addition of West Virginia transfer Lanell Carr.
Carr announced his transfer to IU on his social media accounts.
Carr appeared in all 12 games this past season and recorded 21 tackles, 4.5 tackles for loss, two quarterback hits, and one sack for the Mountaineers.
Carr just entered the portal a couple days ago and was immediately offered by IU.
A natural pass rusher, Carr could play the defensive end or bull position in IU’s defense.
Listed at 6-foot-1 and 245 pounds, Carr played in 27 games for West Virginia from 2020 to 2022 and he has two years of eligibility remaining.
The St. Louis, Mo. product attended De Smet Jesuit H.S.
Out of high school Carr had a thrree-star rating by ESPN, Rivals and 247Sports. He was the No. 11 player in Missouri by ESPN, No. 13 by Rivals and No. 14 by 247Sports. He was rated the No. 63 outside linebacker nationally by ESPN and No. 46 by 247Sports.
Carr was also offered by Arkansas, Georgia Tech, Indiana, Iowa, Iowa State, Kansas, Kansas State, Louisville, Maryland, Syracuse and Virginia Tech out of high school.
