What’s old is new again in 2022.
On Friday afternoon the IU football Twitter account debuted new road uniforms to be worn throughout the 2022 season.
The cream jerseys, crimson pants and crimson helmets with the popular “block I” logo harken back to a successful era of the program.
“The Hoosiers will wear these uniforms on the road to mirror those worn by Coach Bill Mallory’s teams from the early 1990s,” the program said in a caption accompany the Twitter post.
Indiana also wore Mallory era uniforms at home last year in a high profile game against Cincinnati. Certain aspects of those uniforms, including black helmet trim and facemasks are expected throughout this season.
