The class of 2021 is off to a big start for Indiana.
IU has earned one of its highest ranked verbal commits of the recruit ranking era with the news that Elkhart Central’s Rodney McGraw will join the Hoosier football program.
The 6-foot-5, 237 pound McGraw is IU’s first 2021 commit, and he announced his decision on his Twitter account today.

McGraw is the No. 341 player overall nationally according to the 247Sports Composite, the No. 20 weakside defensive end, and the No. 6 player in the state of Indiana according to that same service.
The in-state pass rusher has put up eye-popping numbers over the last two years.
As a junior in 2019, McGraw posted 73 tackles with 21.5 tackles for loss, nine sacks and three forced fumbles.
In his first year of varsity football in 2018, McGraw had 45 total tackles, including 18 for a loss.
McGraw visited IU over the weekend in connection with the football program’s junior day.
The commitment by McGraw continues a trend of Indiana securing top-350 recruits over the last few years including Sampson James in 2019 and Rashawn Williams in 2020.
McGraw had offers from Michigan, Michigan State, Purdue, Penn State and many others.
