After losing an in-state defensive end verbal commit in the class of 2021 last week, Indiana will be working hard to fill that opening.
When it comes to other in-state targets in the incoming senior class, the top rated defensive end on the board is Pike (Indianapolis) High School’s Kyran Montgomery. The 6-foot-4 and 215 pound Montgomery is a higher-end three star rated recruit. He is currently ranked No. 406 overall in the class according to the 247Sports Composite, the No. 24 weak-side defensive end nationally, and the No. 6 player in the state.
Montgomery had 99 tackles, including 22 tackles for loss and five sacks on the 2019 season. Montgomery added four quarterback hurries, one forced fumble and one pass deflection. His 2019 season highlights are below.
Montgomery currently has several power five offers including Arizona State, Boston College, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Maryland, Minnesota, Missouri, Penn State, Purdue, Washington State, and West Virginia,
