Indiana has added in-state offensive lineman Evan Lawrence to its recruiting class of 2024.
The 6-foot-7 and 260-pound Lawrence announced his commitment to IU on his Twitter page on Monday evening.

A Danville, Ind. product, Lawrence is Indiana’s fifth commit in their 2024 class, and first from the state of Indiana.
According to his head coach Jayme Comer, Lawrence went to a camp at IU on Friday and earned an offer.
Lawrence told 247Sports national reporter Steve Wiltfong why he picked Indiana.
“I really like the coaching staff, how they’re connected to God a lot,” Lawrence told Wiltfong. “Also their facilities and they’re in the Big Ten, It’s the best chance to go to the next level. They just seem like a good program to go into. Hometown kid I can stay close to home. I’m excited.”
A good athlete, Lawrence also plays basketball and throws discus on the track team at Danville. He played on both sides of the ball in football and caught some passes as well.
Prior to the IU offer, Lawrence had recently received offers from Indiana State, Eastern Michigan and Ball State. He is unranked at this point, and thought of as a high-ceiling prospect who is just starting to flash his Power Five potential.
