Indiana has picked up a commitment from highly sought after class of 2025 athlete/cornerback Seaonta Stewart.
The Cincinnati, Ohio product announced his decision at his high school on Monday afternoon.
Stewart took an official visit to IU a couple weeks ago. The Hoosiers offered in January, and he also visited around that time.
“I feel like it was the right place for me. I like what the new staff has in plan for the future,” Stewart told Allen Trieu, a national reporter for 247Sports.
At 6-foot-1 and 190 pounds, Stewart is listed as an athlete by most recruiting sites. He’s expected to play cornerback at the next level after switching to that position from quarterback during high school. He also plays basketball in high school. He’s listed at 6-foot-2 by some outlets and could end up playing safety in college.
According to the On3 Industry Average, Stewart is a 3-star, the No. 643 overall player in the class nationally, and the No. 29 athlete.
Stewart had a wave of Power Four offers come in after his junior season with Winton Woods H.S.
In addition to IU, Stewart also had offers from Purdue, West Virginia, Kentucky, Oklahoma, Penn State, Tennessee, Cincinnati, Georgia Tech, Stanford, Duke, Pittsburgh, Illinois, Minnesota, Michigan State, Boston College, and Virginia.
Indiana now has 19 total commits in a 2025 class that ranks in the national top-50.
