Indiana has a new player as the highest ranked recruit in its 2023 class.
The Hoosiers landed a signing day commitment and signature from Shreveport, Louisiana edge rusher Ta’Derius Collins.
At 6-foot-4, 250 pounds Collins is ranked the No. 429 player in the nation for the 2023 cycle according to the 247Sports Composite. Collins also ranks as the No. 44 edge rusher in the country and the No. 18 player from the state of Louisiana.
As a senior at Northwood H.S., Collins led the Falcon defense with 61 tackles, 23 for a loss and 12 sacks.
Collins took an official visit to IU over the summer. He was also recruited by Texas, Baylor, Missouri, Mississippi State, Kansas State, TCU, Louisville, Minnesota, Auburn and Arkansas, among others.
