One of the class of 2022 recruiting targets Indiana fans are watching with keen interest significantly narrowed things down on Saturday afternoon.
Brebeuf High School (Indianapolis, Ind.) defensive end Joe Strickland named the final three school he is considering. Indiana, along with Purdue and west coast academic powerhouse Stanford also made the cut.
Strickland is a 4-star prospect, ranked No. 227 nationally in the 2022 class overall by the 247Sports Composite, and he is the No. 32 defensive lineman.
As a junior he had 10 sacks, 21 tackles for loss, 62 tackles, and 15 quarterback hurries in 10 games.

In addition to his three finalists, Strickland had a lengthy offer sheet including Penn State and Michigan, schools he visited in June. Arizona State, Boston College, Cincinnati, Duke, Kansas, Kentucky, Michigan State, Minnesota, Nebraska, Northwestern, Tennessee, Virginia, Virginia Tech, and West Virginia all offered as well.
Strickland took an official visit to IU in late June, his last during the period when in-person visits were allowed.
He has said on social media he plans to announce a decision prior to the start of his senior season which begins on August 20.
