Indiana continued its impressive class of 2022 recruiting haul on Wednesday afternoon when in-state 4-star wide receiver Omar Cooper, Jr. announced he has committed to play in Bloomington.
Following his high school quarterback to Indiana, Cooper is the highest rated wide receiver recruit to ever commit to the Hoosiers.
The Lawrence North High School (Indianapolis, Ind.) product broke the news on his Twitter page.

The 6-foot-1 and 170 pound Cooper is a 4-star recruit according to the 247Sports Composite. That service pegs him as the No. 214 overall player in the 2022 class and the No. 30 wide receiver.
Catching balls from IU freshman quarterback Donaven McCulley, Cooper hauled in 38 passes for 1,101 yards and 14 touchdowns in a 10-game injury shortened 2020 campaign. He was also teammates on the Lawrence North basketball team with McCulley and IU commit C.J. Gunn, but the injury forced him to miss the 2020-21 hoops season. As a sophomore Cooper emerged with 53 receptions for 1,024 yards and 13 touchdowns in 11 games.
Cooper had narrowed his options down to Indiana and West Virginia in recent weeks. He also held offers from Cincinnati, Arkansas, Boston College, Illinois, Iowa, Michigan State, Missouri, Purdue, Virginia Tech, Wisconsin, and many others.
Cooper is the tenth overall commit for IU in the 2022 class, the first wide receiver, and the third 4-star. To see the complete list of 2022 commits, GO HERE.
