Indiana football remains ranked No. 13 in both the AP Poll and the APCA Coaches Poll for the second week in a row.
The Hoosiers are coming off a 31-17 win over unranked Washington to reach 8-0, matching the best start in program history. But there wasn’t enough movement with teams ahead of them to send them higher in the rankings. LSU fell from No. 8 to No. 16 in the AP Poll after losing to Texas A&M, and the Aggies rose from No. 14 to No. 10 after that win.
IU did add rankings points, however, going from 830 to 952. The Hoosiers are just 16 points behind Clemson and Iowa State, who are tied at No. 11.
Three other Big Ten teams check in ahead of IU in the AP Poll: No. 1 Oregon, No. 3 Penn State, and No. 4 Ohio State. Next week’s game between the Buckeyes and Nittany Lions in State College, Pa. will have a big impact on the Big Ten standings. No. 24 Illinois is the only other conference team in the AP Poll. None of Indiana’s eight opponents so far received any votes.
Indiana hits the road this week to take on Michigan State (4-4, 2-3 Big Ten) on Saturday at 3:30 ET on Peacock.
