Indiana needs to bolster its defensive line, and they’ll have a chance to do that this weekend.
According to ESPN’s Pete Thamel, IU will host Alabama transfer DL Khurtiss Perry on a visit to Bloomington.
Perry spent the last two years with the Crimson Tide. Over that time in Tuscaloosa, he redshirted after not appearing as a freshman, and he played in the 2023 season-opener against Middle Tennessee.
The 6-foot-2 and 265-pound Perry has three years of eligibility remaining. He entered the transfer portal following Alabama’s spring practice.
Perry played high school football at Pike Road H.S. (Montgomery, Ala.) where he was a four-star prospect.
He was the No. 66 overall recruit in the 2022 cycle according to the On3 Industry Ranking, and he finished as the No. 10 DL in the nation in his class.
As a high school senior, Perry helped Pike Road to a state championship in 2021. He recorded 76 tackles, including 22 sacks, with 30 quarterback hurries and a forced fumble as a senior.
Perry earned a spot in the 2021 All-American Bowl in San Antonio, Texas. He chose Alabama over Auburn, Clemson and Texas.
