Indiana will be looking to replace several key contributors at wide receiver when their College Football Playoff run comes to an end.
One of the top prospects in the portal is a name likely familiar to many IU fans.
According to multiple reports, Miami (Ohio) transfer receiver Javon Tracy visited Indiana this week.
Listed at 6-foot, 206 pounds, Tracy is from Indiana. He played for Decatur Central High School in Indianapolis where he also played some at the quarterback spot.
Coming off his best season, Tracy was named first team All-MAC last week. He ranks seventh in the MAC in catches and sixth in yards.
Tracy led Miami (Ohio) with 57 receptions for 818 yards. He was second on the team with seven touchdowns in 2024. Tracy also had a touchdown pass. He had a career-high 10 catches for 119 yards and a touchdown in their road loss to Toledo in Week 6, and five catches for 118 yards and a touchdown in the home win vs. Central Michigan in Week 9.
Tracy played in all 14 games in 2023. He finished with 22 catches for 348 yards and two touchdowns.
There have been multiple reports of Tracy taking several additional visits, including Minnesota Dec. 14-15, Georgia Tech on Dec. 16, Baylor on Dec. 17, Pitt on Dec. 18 and Utah on Dec. 19.
Tracy committed to Miami in the Class of 2022. He was a consensus three-star recruit, with 247Sports rating him the No. 93 athlete and No. 21 in Indiana, Rivals ranking him No. 24 in the state and On3 rating him No. 46 athlete and No. 20 in Indiana.
Indiana is losing three key receivers from the 2024 team after their CFP run. Myles Price, Ke’Shawn Williams and Miles Cross will all be out of eligibility. That creates a perfect opportunity for a player like Tracy to step in and take on a slot role.
Tracy has two years of eligibility remaining.
