Indiana is going to the Rose Bowl!
In prime time!
Okay, it isn’t the Rose Bowl game, but as you’ve known for a while, the Hoosiers are going to play in the Rose Bowl Stadium against UCLA this fall. It will be Indiana’s first game at the famous venue since their last appearance in the Rose Bowl game on January 1, 1968 vs. USC.
On Thursday, Brett McMurphy of Action Network reported IU’s Sept. 14 game at UCLA will kick off at 7:30 p.m. ET and air on NBC.
Indiana confirmed McMurphy’s report and also released television designations and kick times for their first three games of the 2024 season. Here’s what that looks like. The first two games are at Memorial Stadium in Bloomington:
- Saturday, August 31 — vs. Florida International (3:30 p.m. ET, BTN)
- Friday, Sept. 6 — vs. Western Illinois (7:00 p.m. ET, BTN)
- Saturday, Sept. 14 — at UCLA (7:30 p.m. ET, NBC)
The UCLA game is IU’s Big Ten opener and first road game of the season. The second road trip comes in week six when the Hoosiers travel to Evanston, Ill. to face Northwestern.
As we’ve reported previously, Northwestern is in the process of building a new stadium on the same site as the now demolished Ryan Field.
IU and Northwestern will play at a temporary stadium on the banks of Lake Michigan on Oct. 5.
ESPN’s Adam Rittenberg posted a conceptual rendering released by Northwestern of the lakeside stadium. It will be located along the shore of Lake Michigan, on the northeast end of the campus. Located next to the Walters Athletics Center, the temporary outdoor stadium will take up part of the current soccer and lacrosse field (Martin Stadium) and an outdoor football practice field.
