There were some ups and downs in IU redshirt freshman Michael Penix’s first career start at Indiana.
But a 24-for-40 passing day for 326 yards and a touchdown to go with two interceptions was good enough to earn the Tampa, Fla., native Big Ten freshman of the week honors.
Penix added 67 rushing yards against Ball State in week one. He spoke with the media on Monday about his first start and looked forward to week two against Eastern Illinois.
