Indiana men’s basketball has made the top eight for class of 2024 four-star guard Austin Swartz.
The guard narrowed his recruitment down to eight programs Thursday, and IU made the cut. The Hoosiers will battle it out with Miami, Clemson, UConn, Florida State, Notre Dame, Georgia, and Virginia Tech.

This update eliminated several other Big Ten schools from Swartz’s recruitment. He held other offers from Penn State, Maryland, and Illinois.
According to On3’s Joe Tipton, Swartz will take the following official visits:
- Indiana: August 18-20
- Miami: August 25-27
- Georgia: September 1-3
- Florida State: September 8-10
- UConn: September 18-22
- Virginia Tech: September 29-October 1
Swartz checks in at 6-foot-4 and 180 pounds out of Concord, N.C. He indicated in June that he was looking to take an official visit to IU. The Hoosiers offered him in April.
247Sports Composite ranks Swartz at No. 43 overall in the class of 2024, and the No. 8 shooting guard in the class.
Swartz told The Daily Hoosier in June that Kenya Hunter and Adam Howard have led IU’s recruiting efforts for him. He said they’ve emphasized what they did for Jalen Hood-Schifino — who also played high school basketball in North Carolina before moving down to Montverde — and that they could get him to the same level.
