Indiana men’s basketball has scheduled a marquee non-conference game for the 2027-28 season.
IU will take on Kansas in Las Vegas on Friday, Nov. 12, 2027 as part of the 2027 Hall of Fame Series, the Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame announced on Sunday. Arizona faces Duke in the other half of the doubleheader at Allegiant Stadium, where the Las Vegas Raiders play home games. That same stadium will also host the Men’s Final Four that season.
“We are excited to play in such a prestigious event,” IU head coach Mike Woodson said in IU’s press release announcing the game. “I look forward to testing our ballclub that early in the season against a high-level opponent like Kansas. Our staff has always prioritized playing the best competition out there and getting this opportunity in Allegiant Stadium should be a lot of fun for both the program and the fan base.”
Indiana and Kansas have faced off 16 times in total, with each side winning eight. The Jayhawks won in Bloomington last season, as well as the first leg of that home-and-home series in Dec. 2022. IU’s last win over KU came in Honolulu in Nov. 2016.
This now gives the Hoosiers two major non-conference games in 2027-28. IU faces Kentucky at Rupp Arena in Lexington on Dec. 18, 2027.
