The IU men’s swimming program is a national title contender in 2025.
The Hoosiers are currently ranked No. 2 in the nation and head coach Ray Looze believes his squad has a chance to bring home hardware in March. The Hoosiers won six straight NCAA national championships from 1968 to 1973, but haven’t won again since.
During the fall, Looze saw a once dormant program give his team a lift as Curt Cignetti’s football team energized the campus.
“Football is like the University’s front door. It makes everybody better,” Looze told SwimSwam. “It’s really important to Olympic sports. It’s been a shot in the arm of good feeling and positivity. The kids talk about it all week long. We have alumni stream back in here every weekend.”
