Indiana has seen significant roster turnover since its historic Elite Eight run in March.
While the Hoosiers anticipate the return of their starting lineup from the 2020-21 season, transfers out of the program created several roster openings and some questions about depth below the first five.
IU has made a major move to upgrade its roster with the addition of transfer Caitlin Hose. The Hazel Green, Ala. product comes to Bloomington from Georgia where she played in 60 games and made 13 starts in her three-year career. The 5-10 guard was part of a program that advanced to the 2021 NCAA Tournament second round. As a sophomore in 2019-20, she played in all 29 games and made nine starts where she set a career-high 14 points against Gardner-Webb.
Hose will have two years of eligibility remaining with the Hoosiers starting in the upcoming 2021-22 campaign.
Hose led Hazel Green High School a 6A state championships game all four years as it collected a state title during her senior season. She is an AI.com/Birmingham News First-Team All-State, 6A Northwestern Region MVP, Player of the Year and 2018 Miss Alabama Basketball candidate. In addition, she was four-time all-state honoree and averaged 16.7 points, 6.7 rebounds, 5.9 assists and 1.9 steals per game as a senior.
