Indiana nabbed a perimeter sniper familiar with the Big Ten from the transfer portal on Thursday evening.
Former Penn State guard Shay Ciezki announced on her Instagram page she’s headed to Bloomington.
The 5-foot-7 Ciezki spent her first two years of college with Penn State. In 2023-24, she averaged 11.5 points, 2.4 assists and 2.1 rebounds per game. Her shooting splits were 42.3% overall, 36.8% from three and 90.2% from the free throw line. Ciezki was named honorable mention All-Big Ten.
The Buffalo, N.Y. product was Penn State’s top option at guard during her two seasons in Happy Valley. As a freshman, she started 29 games and was one of the best three-point shooters in the Big Ten, finishing second in three-point percentage (41.6%).
Ciezki has two years of eligibility remaining.
She was ranked the No. 56 player and No. 14 point guard in the 2022 class by ESPN HoopGurlz.
Ciezki is IU’s second commit of the day. Tennessee forward Karoline Striplin announced she is headed to Indiana earlier on Thursday.
