Indiana women’s basketball has landed a commitment from class of 2026 guard Ashlinn James. She announced her decision on Instagram on Monday.
The 5-foot-9 Louisville native is the first class of 2026 player to commit to Teri Moren’s program. The Hoosiers offered James a scholarship after she attended Hoosier Hysteria in 2023, and she took an unofficial visit to Bloomington in late August. Her offers included Miami (Fla.), Marquette, Saint Louis, Western Kentucky, North Carolina A&T, Murray State, and Bellarmine.
Prep Girls Hoops has ranked James the No. 1 class of 2026 player in the state of Kentucky.
James recently joined the West Virginia Thunder AAU program, which is the same program that 2025 IU commit Maya Makalusky has also played for.
