IU women’s basketball is headed overseas this summer.
The Hoosiers are traveling to Greece from August 1-10, the program announced Thursday.
IU will play two games in Greece, one in Athens and one in Patras. The team is allowed to officially practice for 10 days leading into the trip.
In addition to the games, the Hoosiers will travel around the country, with stops in Athens, Delphi, Nafpaktos, and Olympia.
This is IU’s first foreign tour since 2017, when Teri Moren’s team when to Italy. Teams are allowed to take a foreign tour once every four years.
The Indiana University Athletics Women’s Excellence initiative made the trip possible. The initiative raises private support for IU’s women’s varsity sports and to enhance the student-athlete experience for IU’s female student-athletes.
