Indiana women’s basketball sophomore guard Lenée Beaumont will miss the rest of the 2024-25 season, the program announced Thursday on social media.
Beaumont had not yet played this year, while battling a lingering knee problem from the offseason. Her status remained unclear, and head coach Teri Moren sounded pessimistic about her prospects of suiting up anytime soon. But Thursday’s announcement put that uncertainty to rest. Beaumont, the program said, underwent successful knee surgery this week. She’ll utilize her medical redshirt for this year, and will return for 2025-26 as a redshirt sophomore.
Meanwhile, graduate student Sydney Parrish is nearing a return.
Parrish warmed up ahead of IU’s win over Bellarmine on Sunday, with a large brace over her left knee. She ultimately didn’t play in the blowout, but Moren said the wing should play this weekend against Oakland.
“She’s good,” Moren said after the Bellarmine game. “We talked a little bit about maybe playing some minutes, this was last week, today. But we just felt like she’s really — she’s been pleased with how the process has been for her, and feels really comfortable with the process. And so she and Ben and our doctors just felt like maybe giving her another week, just to feel more comfortable. She’s yet to be in — she’s been in practice, but not full speed. I anticipate that this week. So I think we’ll see her in the last non-conference game on Sunday.”
