Crispus Attucks wing and 2023 recruit Jalen Hooks has set June 22 as the date for his unofficial visit to Indiana, according to a post on the Crispus Attucks boys’ basketball program Twitter account.
Hooks will also take unofficial visit to Cincinnati on June 21 and Pittsburgh on June 28 according to the post.
The 6-foot-7, 195-pound Hooks is a four-star recruit and the No. 55 player in the Class of 2023 according to 247Sports.com. He averaged 11.1 points, 8.4 rebounds, 3.3 assists and 1.7 steals for Crispus Attucks as a sophomore in the 2020-21 season. Indiana has not yet offered him a scholarship but has shown consistent interest for more than a year. He has eight reported scholarship offers according to 247Sports.com, including offers from DePaul, Georgia, Illinois, LSU, Marquette and Xavier.
Indiana has had a dialogue with Hooks going back to the prior coaching staff. He recently told The Daily Hoosier he sees a valuable resource in new IU coach and 25 year NBA coach Mike Woodson.
“I’m glad that he chose to take it down a notch and coach college basketball, and I’m glad that he’s here,” Hooks said of Woodson.
Indiana is also expecting late June visits from 2023 in-state forward Xavier Booker (June 23) and 2022 guard Jalen Hood-Schifino (June 28).
