Indiana freshman point guard Khristian Lander is staying with Indiana, he announced on Monday afternoon.
The 6-foot-2 point guard put his name in the transfer portal in March after Archie Miller was fired, and indicated that he wanted to meet with new head coach Mike Woodson prior to deciding whether to stay in Bloomington.
“After much thought with Coach Woodson and my family, I feel it is in my best interest to continue my basketball and academic career with Indiana,” Lander said in a statement on his Twitter page.
“I want to be one of the reasons Indiana basketball gets back to being great again,” he continued. “I am putting my trust into my team, Coach Woodson, and the staff he assembling.”
The former 5-star recruit saw action in 26 games off the bench for the 2020-21 season. He averaged 2.1 points and had 30 assists. Lander reclassified to join Indiana in the class of 2020.
