IU football has never won 10 games in a season, but they’ll have a chance to get there just 10 games into the 2024 campaign.
Standing in their way is an old nemesis.
Michigan is next up for the Hoosiers Saturday (Nov. 9) in Bloomington. The kick time and television for the game was announced Saturday evening.
The Hoosiers and Wolverines will start at 3:30 p.m. ET inside Memorial Stadium. The game will air on CBS, with Brad Nessler, Gary Danielson and Jenny Dell on the call.
In a first place tie in the Big Ten with Oregon, Indiana (9-0, 6-0) will try to beat Michigan (5-4, 3-3) for a second time in five years after not beating the Wolverines at all from 1988 to 2019.
Michigan leads the all-time series 62-10, and they crushed IU 52-7 a year ago in Ann Arbor on their way to a national title.
ESPN’s Football Power Index currently five IU an 81.7% chance to win.
Michigan is coming off a 38-17 home loss to Oregon, and they’ve lost three of four overall. The Wolverines have not won away from home all season. Their wins have come against Fresno State, Arkansas State, USC, Minnesota and Michigan State. In addition to Oregon, Michigan has lost at home to Texas, and they lost on the road at Illinois and Washington.
Quarterback play has been a challenge all season for Michigan. They’ve tried three different signal callers, including former IU quarterback Jack Tuttle, who retired during the season due to concussions. Davis Warren and Alex Orji have both struggled at the position for first year coach Sherrone Moore. At right around 300 yards and 20 points per game, they have one of the least productive offenses in the nation.
