Brandon Huntley-Hatfield, we barely knew you.
So far getting transfer portal prospects on campus in Bloomington has been a challenge.
Huntley-Hatfield joins Leland Walker and Connor Hickman as reported portal visitors who have at least postponed if not outright cancelled their planned Indiana visits.
In the case of Huntley-Hatfield, Joe Tipton of On3 is reporting Monday a visit to IU just announced on Friday has now been cancelled.
Tipton is reporting the Louisville transfer center will focus instead on UConn, Pittsburgh, N.C. State or a return to Louisville.
The Hoosiers are in need of a center after Kel’el Ware announced he’s headed to the NBA next season.
For the most part they’ve been tied to guards in the transfer portal. Some other frontcourt players IU has been reported to be in contact with are Drexel’s Amari Williams, Minnesota’s Pharrel Payne, Evansville’s Ben Humrichous, and Belmont’s Malik Dia.
Of course it’s also possible Indiana is involved with others and it just hasn’t been reported to this point. That’s what happened a year ago when Ware flew under the radar until a day before his IU visit. The top center in the portal this year, Stanford’s Maxime Raynaud, has had a very quiet recruitment to this point.
