Mackenzie Holmes and Sara Scalia have earned first team All-Big Ten honors, selected by both the media and the coaches.
Holmes was selected unanimously for her third career first-team honor. She led Indiana with 20.7 points, 7.1 rebounds per game, and 1.5 blocks per game. The graduate student shot 67 percent from the field.
This was Scalia’s first-ever first-team selection. She was named to the All-Big Ten second team in 2021-22, her final season at Minnesota, but never the first team before this season. The fifth-year averaged 16.3 points, 3.8 rebounds, and 2.5 assists per game, and she shot 43.8 percent from 3-point range, which ranked 13th in the nation and second in the Big Ten — behind IU sophomore Yarden Garzon. She shot a career-best 43.9 percent from the field.
Chloe Moore-McNeil was a consensus second-team selection. This is the second year in a row the guard has been named to the second team. The senior’s 10.1 points and 4.9 assists per game are both career highs. She’s also shot a career-best 40 percent from 3-point range.
Both Moore-McNeil and Holmes were also named to the All-Big Ten Defensive Team.
Garzon was named an honorable mention by both coaches and media. Her 45.5 percent 3-point clip was fifth in the country, and the best mark in the Big Ten. The Israeli averaged 11.7 points, 4.2 rebounds, and 3.1 assists per game, while shooting 47.3 percent from the field.
