Indiana will be shorthanded against Penn State on Sunday in Philadelphia.
Junior starting forward and leading scorer Malik Reneau is out vs. the Nittany Lions after suffering an injury on Thursday.
The Daily Hoosier understands Reneau could be out 1-3 weeks with his lower body injury. There’s a chance this is the only game he misses.
Jakai Newton and Gabe Cupps are also out for IU, while Oumar Ballo is questionable for the third straight game. Ballo is expected to play.
With Ballo out of the starting lineup the last two games, Indiana inserted Luke Goode. He could be in line for his third straight start now with Reneau out.
Reneau is averaging 14.9 points, 5.9 rebounds and 2.3 assists per game while shooting 60.3% from the field. He suffered an apparent right knee injury on the first defensive possession of IU’s 84-74 win over Rutgers Thursday evening. Reneau emerged from the halftime locker room with ice under his right knee.
Penn State lists Kachi Nzeh and Hudson Ward as out for the Sunday afternoon contest.
Indiana and Penn State tip at Noon ET at the Palestra in Philadelphia (BTN).
