Mike Woodson is not expected to miss any further games after contracting COVID.
In a Friday afternoon release, IU Athletics said the second year head coach will be on the IU bench Saturday evening when the Hoosiers face Ohio State.
“Coach Woodson is doing great,” the school said in the release. “We are following CDC COVID guidelines, and our medical team expects him to be on the bench for tomorrow night’s game.”
Assistant coach Yasir Rosemond filled in for Woodson on Wednesday when Indiana traveled to Minnesota. IU won that game 61-57. While Rosemond had the most visible role, the coaching staff shared some of Woodson’s duties including substitutions.
In a video posted on the IU basketball program social media accounts, Woodson could be seen talking to the team via FaceTime in the IU locker room following the win over Minnesota.
Indiana and Ohio State tip at 8 p.m. Eastern Saturday at Simon Skjodt Assembly Hall in Bloomington, Ind.
